How do I become a street performer on the Third Street Promenade?
Hundreds of street performers and artists hold licenses to bring their artistry to Downtown Santa Monica and the Third Street Promenade. Among the many artists who make this city by the sea more interesting are clowns, dancers, guitarists, jugglers, pianists, saxophonists, singer-songwriters, tango dancers, a tiny Elvis and more.

In order to perform on the Third Street Promenade, a performance license is required.

Street performers' licenses are issued out of Santa Monica City Hall at 1685 Main Street, Room 103, phone ? 310-458-8745. An application may be obtained in person, and two passport-sized photos and a photo ID is required. The licensing office is open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and alternate Fridays. The application process takes three days.

The license fee is $37 per person for one year and runs from January 1 to December 31.

How do I sell merchandise on the Third Street Promenade?

Please note: The Third Street Promenade retail cart and food cart program currently is full.

Applications are accepted for a waiting list, however. It is recommended that potential applicants visit the Third Street Promenade and submit concepts different than current offerings.

There are open slots for artist units.

Please call Provenzano Resources, Inc. at 818-458-5554 to request that an application and information package be mailed to you. The information also is available at the Web site.

	Applications are accepted for three types of carts:
	Retail:	The program features an array of products and seeks new and trendy concepts in jewelry, unique apparel and pet accessories. (17 carts)
	Food:	If interested in a food unit, please contact the City of Los Angeles Health Department at 626-430-5500 with the specific food concept before submitting an application, as many food items are restricted from being sold in an outdoor common area. More information is at the CURFFL issued by the City of Los Angeles. Provenzano Resources, Inc. will provide a basic food cart unit and commissary access. (5 carts)
	Artist:	All artisan applicants must have original handmade products. No reproductions/mass-produced items or artwork will be accepted. Artists are required to commit to one month. (3 carts, weekends only)
